Borough Cup Names New Directors for 2017

12/22/2016 8:50 AM -

The Borough Cup is excited to announce the promotion of two familiar faces for the 2017 Tournament. Zachary Bright and Frank Delgado, fixtures on the fields since the tournaments inception, will now take the reigns as Directors of Business & Community Affairs and Baseball Operations respectively.

“We are so appreciative of everything Zach and Frank have given to the Cup over the last three years,” said Founders John Franco and Gary Perone regarding the announcement. “They have grown with this tournament, and we are excited about all their plans for the future.”

Bright and Delgado’s professional relationship dates back over four years when they were both hired as Head Coaches for Travel Baseball Teams (TTS).  When the Borough Cup was founded a few months later, the pair were naturally the first two hires. For the past three tournaments, Zach has overseen media relations and the website as Communications Manager while Frank has been in charge of recruiting teams and fields as Bronx Borough Coordinator. Before the Borough Cup, Delgado played for the Roswell Invaders of the Pecos League, while Bright was learning under the tutelage of founder Gary Perone as an intern for the Brooklyn Cyclones.

“We are so appreciative of John and Gary for giving us this opportunity,” said the two after their recent promotion. “This tournament is a part of who we are, and are dedicated to taking this event to new heights.”
