Today, the Borough Cup announced the first recurring segment for their newly formed Youth Baseball News Network (Borough Cup TV)- The Big Apple Power Rankings. Each week, the Borough Cup Staff will use League Officials, Coach Evaluations, and first hand scouting to choose a definitive Top-5 (and Honorable Mentions) for every age group U8-U14.

“Baseball in the five boroughs is very spread out, making it hard for teams to accurately determine where they stand in the big picture,” said Director Frank Delgado when asked about the inspiration behind the idea. “With the Big Apple Power Rankings, we aim to take the guess work out of it, in turn creating more unity in NYC Baseball while simultaneously building up story lines for when “The Cup” arrives in July.”

The Borough Cup Staff will begin taking nominations immediately, with our Pre-Season Rankings projected to come out 3/15, followed by our Week 1 Rankings on 4/5. While Borough Cup TV will be actively following play in every league, coaches are highly encouraged to send short updates weekly in order to ensure we have the correct information.
